Sometimes a nice surprise comes along when trying to choose a wine that pairs well with a hamburger. Of course, the hamburger itself has to be made of top quality meat and not something just thrown into a bag from a ‘drive-thru.’ That means, the wine chosen is a mixture of a light to medium-bodied flavor and the price of it a good value. Yalumba Bush Vine Grenache 2006 fills the bill for both taste and value for the money.

The winery begin in eighteen forty-nine when Samuel Smith a migrant from Britain bought thirty acres to begin planting his vineyards. It is the oldest family owned winery in Australia located in the Barossa valley of Angaston, South Australia. For the usual wine lovers of French and Italian brands, the Smith-Hill family also takes special pride in their planting of the grapes, to the processing of the wines and the choosing of the oak corks that seals the tops of the wine bottles.

The 2006 Grenache has the taste of bright and red fruits like strawberry and cherry along with hints of spice. The flavors of this wine really do mingle well with the meat from a well-cooked burger with added swiss or cheddar cheese. Usually, The wine is sold for fifteen ninety-nine retail but can also be priced for a few dollars less depending upon the retailer.

Buying wine is an expressive experience that mixes tradition with the outcome of the taste that sets well upon the palate. After all, it is where development of experiences begins inside the mouth.
